Sonic the Hedgehog X Godzilla is an upcoming comic book miniseries from IDW Publishing. A crossover between the Godzilla and Sonic the Hedgehog franchises, it sees Godzilla and other kaiju enter Sonic's universe. Sonic and his allies try to send the creatures back to their home dimension, while the maniacal Dr. Eggman plots to harness their power for his own nefarious goals. The comic is written by Nick Marino and illustrated by Jack Lawrence, with its first issue scheduled to be published in the summer of 2026.[1]

Development
Sonic the Hedgehog X Godzilla was announced by IGN on February 23, 2026. In IGN's article, Sonic Editorial states that a comic crossover between Godzilla and Sonic had been in consideration by IDW for several years, with development officially beginning within the last year. Series writer Nick Marino, who previously wrote Godzilla Rivals: Biollante Vs. Destoroyah and served as an assistant colorist on Godzilla: Monster Island Summer Camp, states that he first had a call with the Godzilla and Sonic editors about the potential project in the summer of 2022.[1]

- Sonic the Hedgehog X Godzilla marks the second official crossover between the Sonic the Hedgehog and Godzilla franchises, with the first being a collaboration in the game Sonic Rumble from December 2025 to January 2026.
- Both the Godzilla and Sonic franchises had recent independent crossover comics with DC Comics prior to the announcement of this series.
