Godzilla: Here There Be Dragons (ゴジラ:竜の棲む島 Gojira: Ryū no Sumu Shima, lit. "Godzilla: Island of Dragons") is a five-issue Godzilla comic miniseries published by IDW Publishing from June 21 to November 1, 2023. Written by Frank Tieri and illustrated by Inaki Miranda, the series is set in the 1500s and recounts a lost voyage of Sir Francis Drake in which the English explorer and his crew encountered Godzilla and other kaiju inhabitants of Monster Island. The series received two 2024 Eisner Award nominations, for Best Limited Series and Best Penciller/Inker,[1] becoming the first Godzilla comic nominated for an Eisner in any category.
It was followed by two sequels: Godzilla: Here There Be Dragons II - Sons of Giants in 2024 and Godzilla: Here There Be Aliens in 2025. Phase Six brought the original to Japan as a trade paperback on June 28, 2024, retitled Godzilla: Isle of Dragons. The series will be republished in English as part of the Godzilla Library Collection, Vol. 7 paperback in October 2026 along with Godzilla: Rage Across Time and the first four issues of Godzilla Rivals.

Trivia
- This series marks the second appearance of Sir Francis Drake in a Godzilla story, after issue #10 of Dark Horse's Godzilla (1995-1996).
- The first issue indicates that the series is primarily set in the year 1556, though this date does not coincide with historical facts present in the series itself. Queen Elizabeth I's reign did not begin until 1558, and more pressingly, the story is set after Sir Francis Drake's circumnavigation of the globe, which took place between 1577 and 1580; Henry Hull additionally refers to Drake as "Sir" Francis Drake, indicating that the story is set after he was knighted in 1581. Most notably, in the fifth issue, Hull reveals that Drake had recently died, suggesting that the series was actually intended to take place in the year 1596 – the year Drake died of dysentery in real life.
- This is the first concluded Godzilla comic series from IDW Publishing in which Anguirus does not appear within the series itself; he does, however, appear on a variant cover of the first issue.
