Godzilla: Heist #3 is a comic book from IDW Publishing. It was published on May 7, 2025.[1]

Description

Enter: Mechagodzilla! The greatest heist of all time requires the greatest piece of loot—the one man-made creation capable of going toe to toe with the King of the Monsters. Our crew is now inside the Ministry of Defense and moving farther and farther down into its mysterious underbelly. Outside, Godzilla’s rampage continues unfettered, bearing its full might down on the Ministry… It all begs the question: What prize could possibly be worth the trouble? All that, and the greatest heist-story twist of all time inside the pages of Godzilla: Heist #3![1]

Plot

Visakhapatnam, India, decades ago: Godzilla and Anguirus clash on the shore as Jaion Kulkarni's mother and grandfather flee. Anguirus throws a building into Godzilla, but the King of the Monsters shrugs it off and retaliates with atomic breath, winning the bout. His grandfather is killed during the battle, leading his mother to swear vengeance against Godzilla.

London, present day: British soldiers and fighter jets fire futilely at Godzilla as Kulkarni's team infiltrates Whitehall. Beta beheads the two guards standing before the sub-basement entrance with a single swing of her knife, shocking Kulkarni. She reminds him that his plan is currently leading to the deaths of thousands of people on the surface, and plucks out one of the guards' eyeballs to unlock the entrance. Kulkarni struggles with guilt over the cost of recovering his mother's invention, having only viewed the mass casualties in the abstract while planning this heist. They clear a room full of guards with gunfire and Kappa's sheer strength before reaching an enormous locked gate. Kulkarni sets up a small device to release neutrinos and draw Godzilla's atomic breath, melting a hole through the gate and beyond. The team prepares to rappel down, but Beta suddenly pushes Kulkarni off the edge, declaring he's served his purpose. Alpha leaps to his rescue, catching him just before he can hit the ground. At the bottom, they agree the others have no idea they're double-crossing them. Before Beta, Kappa, and Chi can start their descend, Godzilla notices them. He grabs Kappa's rope and tosses her into his mouth, but Beta and Chi manage to escape.

The four remaining team members confront still another formidable gate, but it opens promptly when Alpha knocks. They are greeted by Bender, both their wealthy benefactor on the yacht and a man on the inside. Kulkarni gazes at Mechagodzilla as Bender gloats that controlling the machine will make him the most powerful man in the world. Kulkarni declares that his team will be taking the robot for themselves, but Bender casually taps a few buttons on his watch, electrifying Kulkarni and Alpha. He explains that he learned of their old friendship and, anticipating their betrayal, arranged for micro-Tasers to be sewn into their collars. Beta and Chi, still loyal to Bender, loom behind him.
