The twins’ actions have brought Megaguirus to the present. Through a twist of fate, they realize that this action created a loop, and Megaguirus is actually responsible for weakening Mothra enough to perish at the hands of Antra. Their new Mothra isn’t even close to ready for her rematch against Megaguirus, so Emi and Mira hatch their most daring plan yet: train Mothra with a rematch against her killer—Antra. Will Mothra survive this deadly kaiju clash? And if she does, will it be enough to save the world?[1]

Plot
The Handmaidens of Antra sing to summon Antra, although they warn Emi and Mira that she may attack them. As the kaiju comes into view, Mothra Gemini lands on top of a nearby skyscraper and emits a burst of sparkling light to calm her. Antra gently approaches the three pairs of twins, and Mira holds the Haidenmaidens of Antra out to her. Touching her face, they gravely apologize, then inform the humans she has agreed to an alliance. The two insect kaiju celebrate, then square off in a sparring match. Mothra lands the first blow with a headbutt, evades a toxic blast, and webs down Antra's legs. When she tries scratching her from behind, however, Antra rotates her head 180 degrees and pins Mothra, winning the round.
Mothra, Emi, Mira, and the Shobijin set off in search of other kaiju to train with, the humans offering her advice throughout the battles. Her next opponent is Maguma, who she grapples into submission. Titanosaurus forces her underwater, but she restrains him with a Snare Pulser. Despite Mira's urgings, she fails to stay in the air against Anguirus and becomes easy prey for his Thunderball technique. Gabara also tries holding her underwater, but she sweeps his legs with her wing. Baragon ends up cuddling with Mothra instead of fighting her. She takes on Rodan and Varan simultaneously while Baby Rodan watches, taking out Varan with a high-speed headbutt and Rodan with a wing slice. She joins forces with Antra against Manda; though he coils them both at first, they manage to prevail. Finally, Mothra emerges the victor in a rematch against Antra.
The Shobijin congratulate Emi and Mira on Mothra's progress, but caution them that Megaguirus has attained a more powerful form from feeding on the elder Mothra's divine energy over the years and will be eager to feed on another of the species. That night, Emi asks Mira what she thinks will happen to them after that final battle. Both are confident that Mothra will win and believe it likely that the rejuvinated Shobijin will resume their duties, leaving them to their own devices. Emi finds that prospect daunting, as most of her life has been wrapped up in the Shobijin's mission, but Mira offers to let her stay with her, growing food and searching for other human survivors. Watching over them sleepily, Mothra suddenly grows alert. She and Antra set off to face Megaguirus's new form: Omegaguirus.
