Godzilla (ゴジラ Gojira) is a kaiju who appears in the 2023 animated television series Chibi Godzilla Raids Again as the father of Chibi Godzilla. He resides on Monster Island.
Name
Chibi Godzilla typically addresses Godzilla as "dad" (お父さん otō-san). However, in the first episode, Chibi Godzilla called him by his English name while trying to get his attention, pronouncing it with a Japanese accent like Gajjīra (ガッジーラ). Upon first seeing Godzilla, Chibi Mechagodzilla recognized him as Daikaijū Gojira (大怪獣ゴジラ), which the English subtitles on the GODZILLA OFFICIAL by TOHO YouTube channel translate as "mighty monster, Godzilla". Daikaijū is otherwise typically translated as "giant monster".
Design
Godzilla appears similar to the Heisei Godzilla in Chibi Godzilla Raids Again's opening, though he sports a more nonspecific, cartoony design in the show itself. The front of the neck is divided into three ribs. His irises are yellow and his sclera are cadet blue. His hide is typically a grayish charcoal color. His dorsal plates possess black bases as well as grey edges with two hues, the immediate edge around the base being warm grey while the points are a lighter, pale cool grey. His dorsal plates generally have six to eight points.
Personality
Godzilla actively rampages through human civilization and appears to display limited affection for his son, Chibi Godzilla. When the latter was held hostage by Chibi Gigan and Chibi Ghidorah in order to get through to him, Godzilla expressed little concern about the situation, with Chibi Godzilla managing to certainly translate that Godzilla found the young monsters annoying. Godzilla ultimately swatted away the three monsters, including his own son.

"Chibi Godzilla of Monster Island"
Shortly after introducing himself to newcomer Chibi Mechagodzilla on Monster Island, Chibi Godzilla spotted his father in the distance. Chibi Godzilla called out to him to no avail before confiding in Chibi Mechagodzilla that he dreamed of growing up to become a big monster so his father could hug him without crushing him.
"The Ruler of the Skies, Chibi Rodan"
Chibi Godzilla led Chibi Mechagodzilla and Chibi Mothra on a hike up a mountain in the hopes of speaking with his father, though their planned trip was derailed by the appearance of the narcissistic Chibi Rodan.
"Monster Study Session"
Chibi Godzilla taught a monster study session for the chibi kaiju of Monster Island, asking various questions such as what foe was hardest for Godzilla to defeat (with the answer being "sunlight in the summer"), or what made Godzilla want to go home ("when he bursts out of the ocean facing the wrong way").
"The Sage of Grudges, Chibi Hedorah"
While attempting to justify his hatred of humans, Chibi Hedorah revealed that when giant monsters such as Godzilla attacked, trains and planes still ran like normal instead of evacuating, which Chibi Mechagodzilla conceded to be a justifiable criticism against humanity.
"A Mighty Monster's Instinct"
While hanging out with the other chibi monsters of Monster Island, Chibi Godzilla sneezed, scorching the top of Chibi Mechagodzilla's head with atomic breath before unexpectedly roaring like his father. The others took this as a sign that Chibi Godzilla was reaching puberty and would soon grow big and strong like his father; however, these oddities later proved to be nothing more than the symptoms of a cold.

Godzilla roamed in the background while Chibi Mechagodzilla taught Chibi Godzilla, Chibi Mothra, Chibi Rodan, and Chibi Anguirus how to use smartphones.
"Chibi Mothra's Secret Hobby"
A chalk drawing of Godzilla was present while Chibi Godzilla and Chibi Minilla talked to Chibi Mothra about her fanfiction. Chibi Godzilla later told both of them about his love of the Godzilla franchise.
"Dear Dad"
After Chibi Godzilla finished writing his last letter to his dad for Father's Day and read it aloud, Godzilla threw a huge fish to him as a way of telling Chibi Godzilla to grow strong.
"Chibi Mechagodzilla's Hidden Features"
While talking about Chibi Mechagodzilla's Absolute Zero Cannon, Chibi Godzilla mentioned that he knew about the attack because he is a massive Godzilla fan and his dad had fought Mechagodzilla before.

"Mechagodzilla Shooting"
Godzilla was featured as the boss of the game Chibi Mechagodzilla had created, though wasn't beaten as Chibi Godzilla didn't want to fight him.
"Counting Godzillas"
Chibi Godzilla struggled to get to sleep, so he decided to count Godzillas. On his first attempt, the Godzillas started going in the opposite direction which confused him as to what the actual number was. On his second attempt, a King Ghidorah, a Mothra, and a Rodan joined in, which led to a battle between them. On his third attempt, the Godzillas instead stacked on top of each other after he counted eight. On his fourth attempt, ingredients joined in with the counting and a "Godzilla veggie soup" was made with one of the Godzillas at the end. On his fifth attempt, a strawberry jam appeared instead of any Godzillas. On his sixth attempt, he was interrupted by a traffic volume survey as he tried to count the Godzillas – the survey counted a total of 74,981 Godzillas, shocking him. On his seventh attempt, the Godzillas moved too fast for him to count and other kaiju also joined in. He vowed to stay up all night just to win, but revealed to Chibi Mechagodzilla the next day that he had been dreaming the entire time.

Godzilla roamed in the background as Chibi Mechagodzilla and Chibi Ghidorah talked to each other about visiting Chibi Godzilla and Chibi Minilla's home that day, a first for Chibi Mechagodzilla. Godzilla remained in the background when Chibi Godzilla appeared to tell Chibi Mechagodzilla about his home being in the ocean, worrying Chibi Mechagodzilla. A drawing and a picture of Godzilla could also be seen in their home, as well as a DVD for Shin Godzilla.
"Godzilla King Showdown"
To celebrate Godzilla Day, Chibi Godzilla prepared a quiz on the Godzilla franchise which involved multiple questions on his father, Godzilla himself, such as what his name in kanji characters is.
"Chibi Minilla Gets Kidnapped"
While Chibi Minilla explained to Chibi Godzilla and Chibi Mechagodzilla what her hostage situation under Chibi Gigan was like, a picture book depicting Godzilla and Anguirus was briefly seen.
"Monster Island's Santa"
A chalk drawing of Godzilla was present during a conversation between Chibi Godzilla, Chibi Minilla and Chibi Mechagodzilla. Godzilla merchandise was also seen in Chibi Godzilla and Chibi Minilla's home.
"Happy New Chibi Godzilla"
A chalk drawing of Godzilla was present in the background of the episode and Chibi Godzilla announced the New Year as the "Year of the Godzi". This confused Chibi Mechagodzilla's confusion, requiring Chibi Godzilla and the others to explain the Monster Island zodiac cycle to him. Godzilla was also mentioned during the paper fortunes, with Chibi Godzilla pleased to receive Godzi-Luck.
"Coming-of-Monster Ceremony"
As Chibi Hedorah discussed the responsibilities of giant monsters, illustrations of Godzilla crushing tanks, breaking planes, and destroying historical sites with his atomic breath were seen.
"Chibi Minilla Runs Away"
Various pieces of Godzilla merchandise were seen in Chibi Godzilla and Chibi Minilla's home as the siblings argued.
"Monster Island's Monster Cold Wave"
Chibi Godzilla held a book with Godzilla on the cover as he described how giant monsters are weak to low temperatures.
"Chibi Godzilla Raids Again"
Angry that his dad wouldn't pay him any attention, Chibi Godzilla decided to give him a scare in response and asked his friends to help create the Oxygen Destroyer, the device used to kill Godzilla in the 1954 film. He concerned his friends by commenting it would annihilate all surrounding life in the ocean, but then said he didn't mind if they just used a replica to scare his dad. The group agreed to make a replica, though only Chibi Mechagodzilla ended up working on it, as everyone else slept through the night. They met up the next day and Chibi Mechagodzilla presented the replica while angrily telling the rest of them off for not helping, with Chibi Godzilla then jumping into the sea and presenting it to his father, who roared in fear. Chibi Godzilla noticed partway through that it was an obvious fake, since it used a bowling ball for the main component, washing up on the beach after Godzilla roared loudly. Godzilla emerged from the sea and roared at Chibi Godzilla, though seemingly out of happiness at his son's prank, as Chibi Godzilla vowed a father-and-son rematch, annoying Chibi Mechagodzilla by suggesting the use of the unmanned train bomb from Shin Godzilla.
"Monster Island Tour"
Chibi Godzilla revealed that his father Godzilla was sleeping in Monster Island's replica of the Colosseum, later announcing his desire to also sleep in the Colosseum when he was older.

The chalk drawing of Godzilla was seen once again as Chibi Rodan and Chibi Ghidorah complained about their streaming channel not gaining many viewers.

Part of a Godzilla action figure was seen when Chibi Titano explained how to play a festival shooting game using only bare knuckles, with the figure being a possible prize.

Chibi Godzilla was reading a book with Godzilla's head on the cover when he commented that he was starving and wanted to order a delivery from Monster Eats.
Abilities
Atomic breath
Godzilla is capable of firing atomic breath similar to his son Chibi Godzilla, using it against buildings in his rampages.
Physical abilities
Narration by various characters depicted Godzilla destroying buildings and tanks by stomping on them as well as crushing planes with his claws.
Amphibiousness
Godzilla is capable of both walking on land and swimming in the sea.
Intelligence
Godzilla is heavily anthropomorphic, understanding the speech of his son and the other monsters. When Chibi Godzilla and his friends conducted a prank where they created a replica of the Oxygen Destroyer, the weapon used to kill Godzilla in the 1954 film, Godzilla recognized the device and reacted appropriately.
Weaknesses
Chibi Godzilla mentioned that Godzilla was vulnerable to getting sunburnt during the summer while teaching a monster study session. At one point, Chibi Mothra speculated that Godzilla could burn his mouth if he used his atomic breath, but Chibi Godzilla neither confirmed nor denied this.
Roar
This incarnation of Godzilla utilizes the second-generation Showa Godzilla's roars from King Kong vs. Godzilla through Terror of Mechagodzilla.
