"Defeat the Invader of Fear!"
Using a telescope, Takeru Jo witnessed the Terror-Beast Missile containing Gelderah heading towards the Tanzawa Mountains, and he took Akira Sakimori to chase after it in his car. The missile eventually crashed into a lake where two fisherman were arguing with each other, terrifying them both. Before they could call the police, however, three disguised Garogas showed up and killed them. Takeru and Akira arrived and found their bodies, before the aliens ambushed them and told them that Gelderah would burn down all of Tokyo. The Garogas kidnapped them, but not before Akira radioed Hotaru and Hikaru for help with his Zobot. After arriving at the base where Takeru and Akira were being held, Zone Angel and Zone Fighter defeated the Garoga trio after a brief fight, but not before the Garoga commander declared that Gelderah was still safe and that the final victory would be theirs. Both siblings then returned their human forms and learned that the Terror-Beast Missile containing Gelderah was underwater. Hikaru got back into Mighty Liner to intercept it before it went off, transforming back into Zone Fighter as he did so. Although Zone Fighter had dove underwater with Mighty Liner, he was unable to get to reach the missile in time: it exploded and released the Red Headed Terror-Beast, Gelderah. After seeing Mighty Liner cruise by him, Gelderah attempted to take a swipe at the vessel, but missed as the craft was too fast for him. After failing to damage the transformed vehicle, Gelderah emerged from the lake and roared at Mighty Liner, enduring a volley of blasts from it, including its Dyna-Beam. Irritated with the vehicle, Gelderah unleashed his White-Hot Ray on it, causing Mighty Liner to start smoking, and forcing the Fighter to transform into his giant form.
Zone Fighter immediately kicked Gelderah into the lake, but he was quick to get back up, and grappled with the hero before slapping him across the face. As the duo continued to pummel each other, Gelderah switched tactics and bit into Fighter's neck, causing the hero to scream in pain. Unrelenting, Gelderah kept his grip on the hero's neck despite the thrashing, and threw him backwards, before following with swipes to his chest and throwing him onto dry land. Their battle led them to a fishing village, with the reptilian crushing two boats and a building under his feet as he approached the weakened hero. Gelderah overpowered Fighter, knocking him around and flipping him onto his back after the hero jumped at him. Despite this, Zone Fighter persevered, jumping off a mountain into the reptilian, pulling on his antennae, and slamming him into the ground. Unwilling to give up just yet, Gelderah sprayed Fighter with his White-Hot Ray and forced him off, spraying it once more on the ground Zone stood on, blowing it up. Gelderah then grabbed hold of the hero and tackle him through a building, continuing to slash at his chest after falling through it. Fighter kicked him in the chest, then summoned his Meteor Gauntlets and unleashed his Meteor Missile Might on the dazed kaiju. Gelderah was able to survive the volley that was fired at him, appearing only dizzy after being shot by it. Their battle concluded when Zone Fighter kicked his neck and knocked him to the ground, then cut the monster's head off with a Wide Slice Chop after he got back up, leaving the headless Gelderah to fall backwards and explode.
Abilities
Physical abilities
During his fight with Zone Fighter, Gelderah got up rather quickly after being kicked into the lake. He grappled the hero, slapped him across the face with one of his claws, and repeatedly slammed his fists into his back multiple times. Gelderah also possesses sharp teeth, and used them to bite down on Zone Fighter's neck, causing Fighter to yell out in pain. Even while Fighter thrashed around attempting to get him loose, Gelderah kept his grip on the hero's neck and began to tug him around, before releasing him and throwing him backwards. He followed this attack by knocking the hero around with some swipes, and was also shown uppercutting Fighter onto dry land. He then charged towards the hero after reaching land, knocking him around with punches and even flipping him onto the ground after the hero jumped at him. He tackled Zone Fighter right into a building, before swiping at his chest after falling through it.
Bioluminescence
Gelderah's eyes and brain are shown to glow.
Amphibiousness
After the Terror-Beast Missile exploded, Gelderah emerged from it while underwater and attempted to attack Mighty Liner as Hikaru was piloting it immediately afterwards, before surfacing from the lake he was in.

White-Hot Ray
Gelderah can breath a corrosive mist from his mouth that can cause explosions or set anything it contacts ablaze. According to All Kaiju Kaijin (First Volume), this attack is called the White-Hot Ray (白熱光線 Hakunetsu Kosen).[3] Gelderah used this mist on Hikaru's Mighty Liner, causing the vehicle to start smoking, leaving Hikaru to leap out and transform into his giant form. After Zone Fighter gained the upper hand on Gelderah, the Terror-Beast forced the hero off of him with the mist. Gelderah continued spraying the mist, aiming it at the hero's legs and causing the ground to explode.

Brain and antennae
Gelderah's brain and antennae help him track his opponents' movements. Gelderah's antennae are also described as being "hundreds of times sharper than a blade".[3][4]
Durability
After emerging from the lake, Gelderah endured numerous blasts from Hikaru's Mighty Liner, including the Dyna-Beam, but only appeared to be irritated by it. When fighting his giant form, Gelderah withstood being kicked into the lake, two Meteor Punches to the face and one to the chest, yet seemed unbothered by it. He also endured Fighter shoving his head underwater while being pummeled in the brain, as well as Fighter tugging on his antennae while slamming his head into the ground. Gelderah also survived a volley of Zone's Meteor Missile Might and a Meteor Kick to the neck, before finally succumbing to Zone's Wide Slice Chop, which decapitated him, leaving the rest of his body to fall backwards and explode. Gelderah's back spines are stated to be harder than diamond.[3]
