"Invasion! The Grand Garoga Army: Godzilla Appears"

After the Terror-Beast Missile containing Wargilgar was launched to Earth from the Garoga Space Station, a Silver Garoga disguised himself as "Sachio", Hotaru's childhood friend in an attempt to get close and manipulate her. However, the Terror-Beast Missile would be seen by Hotaru, causing her to search for it with Hikaru and Takeru in a clearing. While searching for it, "Sachio" spies on them as he remote controls a toy plane, targeting Takeru and cutting the back of his hand open after ramming into him. Believing Takeru to be unconscious after the blow, "Sachio" approaches him before Takeru suddenly springs up and attacks, questioning why he was trying to kill him. Hikaru and Hotaru would soon make their way over, with them recognizing "Sachio" from Planet Peaceland. While Hotaru is overjoyed to see her friend again, Hikaru and Takeru remain suspicious of him being a Garoga. After Hotaru takes "Sachio" to the Zone Family's household, he is further questioned by Yoichiro, with the the man claiming he was in a small spaceship doing reconnaissance when the Garogas had destroyed Peaceland, but remarked that Earth felt just like it, leaving Yoichiro to walk away in contempt.

"Sachio" soon left the household with Hotaru and Hikaru, and as they began to drive back to "Sachio's" home, Wargilgar's Terror-Beast Missile finally went off, releasing the giant arthropod. Wargilgar marched towards the vehicle and attempted to stomp on it, but not before Hikaru exited the car and transformed into Zone Fighter. As the two giants clashed, "Sachio" and Hotaru watched from a field before Wargilgar focused his flames on them, forcing "Sachio" to pull her away from the burning field. With the battle nearing its end, "Sachio" interfered and summoned in a ray gun, blasting Wargilgar and causing the kaiju to disappear. This action would further Hotaru's trust in "Sachio", while only causing Hikaru to become even more suspicious of him. Back at the Zone Family household, Hotaru would confront her father asking why he had been acting so cold towards "Sachio", with Yoichiro responding that he doesn't believe "Sachio" is who he claims to be, remarking that his eyes don't have the same honesty as the one who lived on Peaceland. Upon being questioned further, Yoichiro revealed that he let "Sachio" construct things in his workshop, only to find the man making warships and guns as opposed to regular toys for children. Hotaru stormed away after learning this information, not believing her father, and attempted to search for "Sachio". When questioning her mother about his whereabouts, Tsukiko and Yoichiro both told her they made him leave due to their suspicions, with Hikaru and Takeru joining in about "Sachio" interfering with Wargilgar's defeat and suddenly showing up while they searched for the Terror-Beast Missile. Refusing to listen to it any longer, Hotaru ran away once again, going to her father's workshop and finding a note left behind by "Sachio" alongside a music box and toys. However after she opened the music box and it began to make noise, the toys advanced forward and began firing at everyone within the house. While the assassination attempt was eventually foiled, Hikaru was left injured as one of the planes had shot him in the right shoulder.

With his cover no longer needed, "Sachio" appeared on the Zone Family's television screen and began to laugh at them. Revealing his true identity as a Garoga, "Sachio" taunted them by proclaiming that Hikaru's injury would allow them to destroy Tokyo without issue, before revealing Wargilgar had survived and promptly ordering him to begin his assault on the city. After witnessing Wargilgar easily fell the JSDF sent to attack him and beginning to battle Zone Fighter, "Sachio" encouraged the arthropod through further commands before being confronted by Hotaru. Upon being confronted by her and having his gun stolen, "Sachio" attempted to manipulate her further by acting shocked that she would try shooting him, asking if she would shoot someone she loved. After seeing her hesitancy to pull the trigger, "Sachio" began pressuring her into shooting him, walking closer as she backed away from him. However, Hotaru would finally pull the trigger, hitting "Sachio" in the chest and causing him to fall backwards. After being shot, "Sachio" finally transformed back into his true form, a Silver Garoga. As the Garoga stood back up, he began to laugh at her as she began firing more bullets into his chest. Seeing the Garoga unharmed, Hotaru transformed into Zone Angel and began to fight him. While the Silver Garoga began to overpower her, Zone Junior arrived just in time to help her out. Enraged that he was unable to kill Zone Angel due to Junior's intervention, the Garoga pledged his allegiance to his race before beginning his transformation sequence into Spyler.

After turning into Spyler, the abstract kaiju roared out as he flailed his claws around, before stomping toward Zone Fighter, who was busy fighting and overpowering Wargilgar. Finally arriving to help his endangered partner, Spyler bashed Zone Fighter's right shoulder and in the back of his head with both his claws, flooring the hero immediately. Now with the advantage, Spyler and Wargilgar began to ping-pong Fighter back and forth with their claws, before slamming him into the ground. As Zone Fighter attempted to get back up, the kaiju duo grabbed him by the arms and tossed him back against the ground. Seeing Zone Fighter in a vulnerable state, Spyler unleashed his Killer Laser Beams at the hero, disorientating his vision and causing him to yell in pain. However, Godzilla came soon came to Zone Fighter's aid after being summoned in by Zone Angel and Zone Junior. Unaware of his arrival, Spyler continued flashing his lights at Zone Fighter and allowed Wargilgar to beat the hero into the ground. Finally noticing Godzilla charging into the city, Spyler and Wargilgar turned their attention towards the reptilian, before tossed the side with ease. Not done with Spyler, the King of the Monsters ripped off the abstract kaiju's crescent-shaped spike that was attached to his back, before tossing it away and punching the exposed flesh. Godzilla soon faced Wargilgar on his own as Zone Fighter took on Spyler, with Fighter punching him repeatedly and then tossing the kaiju against the ground twice. As Spyler weakly got to his feet, Zone Fighter summoned in his Meteor Gauntlets and began aiming them at the abstract kaiju who jumped backwards in fear. Zone Fighter then began firing both volleys of the attack at Spyler who reeled in pain as the missiles pelted his body, before going limp. Not done with the kaiju, Zone Fighter picked up Spyler's prone body and tossed him into the air, before finishing him off with a Meteor Proton Beam, blasting him to pieces and ending his scheme.

"The Terror-Beast Base: Invade the Earth!"

Spyler appears via flashback as the Baron Garoga contemplated the many defeats they had suffered at the hands of Zone Fighter. The two battled surrounded by pink mist, with Spyler offering no resistance as Zone Fighter pummeled him with punches and kicks. Shortly after, Spyler exploded.

Abilities

Claws

Spyler has claws perfect for bashing opponents. When first coming to Wargilgar's aid, Spyler successfully floored Zone Fighter over with them by slamming them into his right shoulder and back of the head. The Terror-Beasts then took turns bashing the Meteor Man back and forth with their forelimbs, grabbed his arms, and tossed him onto the ground, where he struggled to get back up. Spyler continued his assault on Zone Fighter with Wargilgar until Godzilla came charging in. Spyler's arm muscles are strengthened with iron in order to empower him further.[3]

Killer Laser Beams

Spyler can emit blinding green flashes from the ten orange knobs on his torso, which release smoke after each use. These lights were able to temporarily stun and disorientate Zone Fighter allowing Spyler to gain an advantage over the hero. According to All Kaiju Kaijin (First Volume), this attack is called the Killer Laser Beams (殺人レーザー光線,   Satsujin Reza Kosen), and the structures on his chest can also emit lasers of radiation referred to as Atomic Blasts (スカイストローク).[4] The organs connecting to the knobs on his chest are referred to as a flash bag, and turn radioactive liquid into the flashes of light that are released from his chest. However, right before the lights are unleashed, they are focused in by an internal radiation lens that directly connects into the flash bag.[3]

Radar

Spyler possesses a radar system within his frontal antenna.[3]

Durability

Although Godzilla was able to remove the crescent-shaped spike on his back with relative ease, he was able to continue the fight with no apparent pain. Spyler also was able to withstand the physical attacks of Zone Fighter with no issue. However, he was barely able to survive two volleys of Zone Fighter's Meteor Missile Might, falling limp after being shot by the attack. He was then was blown to pieces by Zone Fighter's Meteor Proton Beam immediately afterwards. Spyler's leg muscles are stated to be hard to act as a substitute for bones.[3]

Trivia

  • Spyler bears a slight resemblance to the Ultraman Ace Terrible-Monster Vakishim, while the spikes on his back also gives him a similarity to another Terrible-Monster from the same series, Verokron.
  • Spyler is the second kaiju to survive the Meteor Missile Might attack, but the first to be killed by the Meteor Proton Beam.
  • According to All Kaiju Kaijin (First Volume), Wargilgar was under Spyler's control.[4] This is supported by the episode itself, where the Garoga disguised as Sachio was revealed to be controlling Wargilgar, with the Garoga transforming into Spyler after a fight with Zone Angel and Zone Junior.
