Taigo (平晤 (タイゴ)) is an adult Godzilla featured in the 2019 web series Godziban, being the father of the Three Godzilla Brothers himself. Along with his mate, Mirei, Taigo left Godzi Godzi Island on a quest to save the world from the approach of Gorath, never to return. In the couple's absence, their eldest son, Godzilla-kun, took upon himself to look after Minilla and Little.

Design

Taigo's appearance is based on the Heisei Godzilla's designs in Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah through Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II. In contrast, he possesses red eyes with prominent hints of gold, his head is relatively smaller, his neck is immensely thicker and bulkier, his legs are more spread apart, and his calves are relatively longer.

Whilst assuming his "Burning Godzilla" form, Taigo dons the same appearance as his counterpart from Godzilla vs. Destoroyah.

Likewise, Taigo possesses Super Godzilla's design while in his form of the same name.

Personality

Taigo is a noble monster with an equivalently strong love for his family.

Origins

Taigo and his mate, Mirei, had raised Godzilla-kun and Minilla until the approach of Gorath threatened the world. Leaving Godzilla-kun to look after Minilla and the yet to be hatched Little, Taigo and Mirei left Godzi Godzi Island to confront the oncoming danger, only to never return. Their fates have remained a mystery ever since.

"Grandiose Memories"

Little stood at the edge of a cliff and wondered what his parents were like, with his brother Minilla relaying this to his other brother Godzilla-kun as they commented on how Little was the only one out of the three of them to have never seen his parent's faces. Thankfully, their friend Young Serizawa had recently completed a machine called the "Memory Memo Memo" which could record memories and Godzilla-kun decided to test it out so he could show his memories to Little, doing so. The machine started it up and began recording a memory of his parents Mirei and Taigo in which he chased after the two of them and climbed up his father, asking who which of them was stronger. After recording memories involving Minilla, he recorded a memory of him being upset by his parents leaving to save the world and leaving him in charge of looking after Minilla and the not-yet hatched Little, with Taigo encouraging him by reminding him that he is Godzilla-kun. Young Serizawa then attempted to enter the memory to find out what the calamity was but was stopped by Grandpa Zilla and Uncle Zilla. Godzilla-kun was upset by remembering these memories but was comforted by his younger brothers.

Abilities

Atomic breath

Taigo's atomic breath was powerful enough to drill through Gorath's crust and reach its crystalline core. However, using his atomic breath for an extended period this way caused him to overheat and enter an exhausted burning state.

Trivia

  • During the sequence where Taigo transforms into Super Godzilla with the energy of his allies, his Burning patches turn from orange to green, resembling the Reactor Glow Godzilla toy variant by NECA.
