Gatling Gigan
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Gatling Gigan (ガトリングガイガン Gatoringu Gaigan) is a mechanical kaiju created for the 2025 Bandai toy line Godziburst and its web series of the same name.
Name
Gatling Gigan's name references its hands' similarity to Gatling guns and its overall resemblance to Gigan.
Design
Gatling Gigan is based on the Gigan from Godzilla Final Wars, but has guns in place of his scythe hands and a different color scheme. Its proper right hand has five barrels in a tight circular arrangement and resembles a Minigun, while its proper left hand has four barrels which are spread apart in a square arrangement around a central cross structure. Its body is predominantly black instead of the regular Gigan's blue, most areas which would be silver on the regular Gigan are green, and its shoulder armor, outer sails, and visor are also green. Its beak is silver.
Personality
Gatling Gigan attacked Godzilla and Little in order to back up its ally, the regular Gigan, who targeted them for unknown reasons. When exchanging blows with Godzilla up close, Gatling Gigan coordinated with its ally to trick Godzilla by drawing his attention to Little as he was threatened by Gigan. Gatling Gigan then used the underhanded tactic of striking Godzilla in the back of his head in this moment, knocking him down. The two cyborgs then abducted the helpless Little and took him away. It later interrupted the ending of Godzilla and the Mothras' fight with Kiryu just to further taunt Godzilla with the abduction of Little. In the ensuing battle, Godzilla transformed into Burning Godzilla, leaving Gatling Gigan shocked when its flying kick had no effect on the King of the Monsters.
In its fight against King Ghidorah, Gatling Gigan again showed good coordination with Gigan, setting up a smokescreen to help its ally get the jump on the dragon.
Origins
It is unknown how Gatling Gigan came to be. However, it is clearly at least partly mechanical. Its Burst Type of Plant/Cosmo may also imply that it is extraterrestrial. Its similarity to and cooperation with the regular Gigan suggests that the two may be related in some way.
History

Godziburst
"A World Beyond Time and Space"
After Godzilla defeated Gigan, he and LittleGodzilla were suddenly rained upon by bullets. The culprit, Gatling Gigan, descended upon a tall rock and stared the monsters down.
"Godzilla and Little"
While Godzilla was spending time with his son LittleGodzilla, the two were suddenly attacked by Gigan. While Godzilla was able to fend off the cybernetic beast to protect his son, Gigan was suddenly joined by Gatling Gigan, who rained a hail of bullets upon the two. Gatling Gigan used its flight capabilities to dodge the majority of Godzilla's attacks while firing at him from a distance. Once the two monsters got into close range they began to fight hand-to-hand. However, Godzilla was distracted by Little's cry and turned to see his son in the clutches of Gigan. Gatling Gigan used this opportunity to strike Godzilla in the back of the head, knocking him to the ground. Gatling Gigan and its ally then took flight, the latter carrying Little in tow. Godzilla could only watch helplessly as the two cyborgs carried his son into the sky.
Abilities
Physical abilities
While in close quarters combat with Godzilla, Gatling Gigan slammed its right gun barrel against Godzilla's thigh. After Gigan had distracted the reptilian with the capture of LittleGodzilla, Gatling Gigan struck Godzilla in the back of the head and caused him to fall to the ground. When fighting Burning Godzilla, Gatling Gigan attempted to grapple with the reptilian before being overpowered. It then sped towards Burning Godzilla with a flying kick to his head, only for Godzilla to not budge at all.
Flight
Despite having no visible means of propulsion, Gatling Gigan is capable of flight. It descended to confront Godzilla and LittleGodzilla, hovering above the ground briefly before landing. It took flight again to flee with Gigan after abducting the young Godzilla. After receiving a boost in power, Gatling Gigan moved so fast in the air it appeared as though it was teleporting. It then flew around in a circle while pelting Godzilla with bullets. During its fight with King Ghidorah, Gatling Gigan spent the majority of the match hovering in the air.
Gatling guns
Gatling Gigan can rapidly spray bullets from the guns that constitute both of its hands. It fired on Godzilla and LittleGodzilla, sending boulders flying. The bullets proved capable of staggering Godzilla and pushed him back. It also obliterated a boulder sent at it by Godzilla by spraying it with bullets. After receiving a boost in power, Gatling Gigan's bullets were strong enough to elicit roars of pain from Godzilla. During its fight with King Ghidorah, Gatling Gigan fired bullets to create a smokescreen for Gigan in order to help him perform a sneak attack on the dragon. It later focused its fire on Ghidorah, who was only staggered by the bullets.
Targeting system
Gatling Gigan has a built-in visual display system which allows it to acquire targets to shoot with its machine guns. It focused in on Godzilla's tail and attempted to fire at it, only for the reptilian to quickly dodge the volley of bullets.
Energy absorption
Gatling Gigan took in LittleGodzilla's energy after it was funneled into it by a Flying Stage Hedorah, with its body glowing yellow as it did so.
Laser
After being granted LittleGodzilla's energy by Hedorah, Gatling Gigan fired a laser from his visor into the air, causing an explosion and turning the sky red.
Spinning Bulled Shot
Gatling Gigan can fire a massive laser from its left Gatling gun through its Burst Technique, Spinning Bulled Shot. Energy courses through the barrels of the gun before it unleashes a large green beam with red electricity spiraling around it. This attack was strong enough to knock down Godzilla, the Mothra Larvae, and Kiryu. However, Godzilla absorbed the energy and transformed into Burning Godzilla after getting back up. The laser proved strong enough to beam-fight with Burning Godzilla's Infinite Spiral Heat Ray, but was unable to push back against his Destroy Heat Ray and ultimately lost the clash.
