Dr.[a] Emi Kinoshita is a character who appears in the 20252026 IDW Publishing comic series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Godzilla. She is the granddaughter of Goro Ibuki, the inventor of the Ibuki Device and Jet Jaguar.

History

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Godzilla

Issue #1

While giving a lecture in New York City, Dr. Emi Kinoshita was attacked by the mutants Bebop and Rocksteady, who attempted to seize her briefcase at the behest of their boss, the Shredder. Fortunately, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arrived to defend her and stave off the thugs. Donatello was the first to introduce himself to the bewildered Dr. Kinoshita as he helped her to her feet, expressing his interest in her research on trans-spatial physics and matter conservation while defending her from another attack by Rocksteady. During the brawl, Bebop threw Raphael across the room into Dontatello, Michelangelo, and Kinoshita, causing them to collapse in a heap and giving Bebop the opportunity to snatch the briefcase. Before he could escape, Leonardo successfully incapacitated Bebop and returned the briefcase to Kinoshita before inviting her to stay with them at their hideout to protect her from Shredder's forces. As they traveled through the sewers beneath the city, Donatello and Kinoshita bonded over their shared interests. While cutting through Times Square, the group witnessed a news report detailing widespread destruction in Tokyo at the hands of giant kaiju, at which point Dr. Kinoshita apologized to the Turtles and declared that she needed to return to Japan immediately.

Later, General Krang informed the Shredder of Bebop and Rocksteady's failure to obtain Kinoshita's device, though the Shredder was undeterred and believed they would have other opportunities to seize their prize.

Issue #2

While recounting how the Shredder and Krang were responsible for luring King Ghidorah to Earth, Donatello mentioned Bebop and Rocksteady's failed attempt to steal Dr. Kinoshita's briefcase.

Issue #3

In Tokyo, following the Turtles' failure to connect with Godzilla's mind, Donatello paid Kinoshita a visit and found her door unlocked. As he entered the house, Kinoshita nearly struck him with a vase, believing him to be an intruder until realizing her mistake. She disclosed that her home had already been ransacked by ninjas, who Donatello identified as the Foot Clan, and that they had stolen her briefcase containing the size-altering Ibuki Device. Believing she could trust Donatello with her secrets, Kinoshita led him to a secret laboratory underneath her home, explaining that her grandfather, Goro Ibuki, originally innovated the science and technologies she now studies for the size-changing robot named Jet Jaguar. Kinoshita revealed that Jet Jaguar once battled kaiju such as King Ghidorah, Gigan, Megalon, Hedorah, and even Godzilla, though the robot ceased functioning in the wake of its inventor's death. Donatello scanned the robot and determined what updates Jet Jaguar needed, revealing that he encountered similar problems with his own robot creation, Metalhead. He proceeded to offer her a way to fix Jet Jaguar.
