- 15 December: Summit Kaiju International filed a lawsuit against Legendary for copyright infringement, claiming that Methuselah was copying, Batholith, an original monster by Summit Kaiju. Which would end Methuselah's screentime in the Monsterverse.[2][3][4][5]

- June: A flock of Griffons attack Egypt, leading to the fall of the capital city of Cairo. Failure to eradicate the early Griffons result in large numbers of them.[6] (GODZILLA: Monster Apocalypse)
- Monarch prepares to undertake an expedition into the Hollow Earth through a Vile Vortex on Skull Island. However, a storm left behind by King Ghidorah closes in on the island, allowing for the Titan Camazotz to surface as the island is plunged into darkness. Kong battles with the King of the Deep, and after an extensive battle, drives him back to the Hollow Earth. (Kingdom Kong)
