In fiction
- Amidst inflamed Cold War tensions between the Soviet Union and United States, a second Godzilla emerges. The creature first attacks a Japanese fishing boat, then a Soviet nuclear submarine before finally arriving in Japan and raiding a nuclear power plant. The 80 meter monster then travels to Tokyo and begins to rampage through the city. The JSDF launches the Super X, a highly-advanced weaponised aircraft, to fight the monster, but it is destroyed in battle. Godzilla is then lured to the rim of the volcanic Mount Mihara on Izu Oshima, where an eruption is triggered that seals the creature within the volcano. (The Return of Godzilla)
- The events of the untitled young Lee Shaw series will take place in the Monsterverse.
