• Gathered in a snowy Boston tavern, sailors share stories of sea monsters. One of them, with horrific burns on his face, tells of a recent encounter with a huge monster he calls a "Gorilla Whale." Before the sailor can finish his story, the monster emerges from the sea, burns the ships moored in the harbor, and tears through the city, but a spilled tank of treacle washes him back into the sea.
