- Shinomura attacks the island of Yap in the Pacific Ocean. Godzilla arrives and chases it away later on. Godzilla has yet to be proven to exist beyond eye-witness accounts. Ishiro Serizawa's father gets the first nuclear submarine, the USS Nautilus, to look for "Gojira," but fails to locate it after weeks of searching. (Godzilla: Awakening)
