  • 11-12 November: During a single night, British Fairey Swordfish torpedo bombers of the Royal Navy inflict serious damage against a sizeable portion of the Italian Regia Marina's warships moored in Taranto. The mission, which was the first instance of an all-aircraft ship-to-ship naval attack in history, would go on to be studied by the Imperial Japanese Navy and used as inspiration for their attack on Pearl Harbor the following year, and also cemented the role of naval aviation in modern military operations.
  • 21 November: Kanzo Uni is born in Amagasaki, Hyogo, Japan.
