In the real world

In fiction

  • The Mongols and their allies wage war with the Japanese, unleashing their monsters, Gigan and Megalon, upon the nation. A samurai and a kunoichi fighting each other at the same time are sent to acquire a relic from the Shobijin temple that'll bring the Japanese to victory. In the process, the two warriors come upon the beast controlled by their acquisition, Yamata no Orochi. The commotion awakens the nearby Godzilla, who promptly kills the eight-headed dragon before being angered into chasing the humans. Godzilla is led into battle with the Mongols' monsters and, with intervention from the two warriors, wins. With no more adversaries in his sights, Godzilla lays waste to the ships around him in Hakata Bay. (Godzilla: Rage Across Time #1)
