In fiction
- Mysterious incidents begin to take place across the globe that involve objects being lifted into the air and then dropped from a great height. These incidents are revealed to be an attack by an alien race known as the Natarls. The aliens invade Earth, but are defeated soundly. (Battle in Outer Space)
- In January, another Rodan is discovered in Mt. Aso. The giant pterosaur locates and battles Godzilla, who has recovered from his previous battle. At the same time, the space monster King Ghidorah arrives on Earth and the remaining Mothra larva attempts to conscript both Godzilla and Rodan to help her fend the creature off. They eventually accept and all three monsters work as a team and drive King Ghidorah from Earth. (Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster)
- The spaceship P-1 is sent to a small planetary body behind Jupiter dubbed Planet X. There, an alien race is discovered that requests the assistance of humanity. After King Ghidorah was driven from Earth by Godzilla, Mothra, and Rodan, the space creature arrived on Planet X. The aliens, called the Xilians, request Godzilla and Rodan's help in defeating Ghidorah. This, however, proves to be a ruse, as the three monsters are placed under the control of the Xilians and sent to attack the Earth. Humanity, however, rises to the occasion and fights back, destroying the aliens and freeing the monsters from their control. Godzilla and Rodan then drive Ghidorah back into space.
