In fiction
- 11 July to 20 August: American reporter Mortimer Lane gathers information about the secret society Sons of Giants and kaiju. Lane suspects that Napoleon Bonaparte's sale of Louisiana and the duel between Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton are motivated by more than political interests. He tries to talk to Burr about it, but Burr, getting nervous, sends the reporter to the Sons of Giants, where Lane unexpectedly meets President Thomas Jefferson. Jefferson inducts him into the order, and together they head to Benjamin Franklin's house to search for information about the presence of aliens on Earth and the weapons against them. After listening to the President's story about the battle between Earth's monsters and King Ghidorah in ancient Rome, Lane, Franklin's former apprentice, discovers a secret room behind a painting of the Colosseum. There, they are unexpectedly attacked by Burr, who turns out to be a disguised Xilien, and Lane sacrifices himself to protect the president. He dies on Jefferson's lap, handing him a salvaged book of Franklin's containing the blueprints for Jet Jaguar. At the same time, Meriwether Lewis writes a letter to Jefferson, informing him of Charles Floyd's death and a terrifying extraterrestrial threat in the form of SpaceGodzilla, Gigan, Mechagodzilla, and a host of Xiliens that landed in the Louisiana Territory.
