Trivia

  • This episode's title is similar to that of an earlier episode, "Secrets and Lies." Both are the third episodes of their respective seasons.
  • This episode is dedicated to cinematographer Tomomi Kamata, director Hiromi Kamata's late father.[1] He was responsible for fostering her interest in Godzilla, showing her the 1954 film when she was a child.[2]
  • While scouring restricted Apex data, May sees the following files:
    • "Castle Bravo - Bikini Atoll," dated 1954, referencing the 1954 Castle Bravo detonation seen in Godzilla: Awakening, the opening credits of Godzilla (2014), and "Secrets and Lies."
    • "Skull Island - South Pacific," dated 1973, referencing the 1973 Skull Island expedition depicted in Kong: Skull Island.
    • "James Conrad - London," dated 1979, referencing British Kong: Skull Island protagonist James Conrad, who joined Monarch following the events of the film.
    • "Red Monarch - USSR," dated 1984; though the significance is unclear, an upcoming spinoff series will be set in this place and time.
    • "Titanus Mosura - New York City," dated 2001, referencing Mothra; the significance of the date and location is unclear, although Mothra attacked the NYC-inspired New Kirk City in her debut film.
    • "A Brooks - Skull Island," dated 2012, referencing Aaron Brooks and his report on Skull Island, which is discovered in 2012 in Skull Island: The Birth of Kong.
    • "Outpost 32 - Antarctica," dated 2016, referencing the outpost holding King Ghidorah in Godzilla: King of the Monsters, which began to be constructed in 2016.
