Is Your Godzilla Collection Stop-Motion Ready? is a 2026 stop-motion Godzilla short film directed by Cressa Maeve Áine. Toho International released it to the YouTube channel GODZILLA OFFICIAL by TOHO and other social media accounts on March 6, 2026.

Plot

Godzilla sleeps underwater. He wakes to see Daisuke Serizawa holding the Oxygen Destroyer and is sent flying out of the water by the resulting explosion. He lands on a nearby island and is dragged by his tail by an imago Mothra before being attacked by two larvae and covered in silk. He emerges from the silk only to be hit in the face by a rock thrown by Rodan, the pterosaur monster laughing at him. Godzilla grabs Rodan by the throat, but they are distracted by a Xilien UFO which summons King Ghidorah. Godzilla clubs King Ghidorah with Mothra larva and sends him flying. The three-headed monster looks up and is shocked to see Godzilla tail-sliding towards him, joined by Anguirus, the Mothra larva, Gorosaurus, Varan, and Baragon all performing the same move. The six crash into King Ghidorah at the same time, and after a brief fight, Godzilla emerges and poses victoriously. Mechagodzilla taps him on the shoulder and flies into the air while spinning its head, only to come crashing down in an explosion immediately after. Hedorah, flying overhead, then buries Godzilla in sludge, and Jet Jaguar gifts him a rose. Godzilla emerges from the sludge and sniffs the rose, only for it to transform into Biollante. She seizes Godzilla in her mouth and throws him into the distance; as Godzilla lies down, recovering SpaceGodzilla chases LittleGodzilla behind him. Destoroyah appears in an explosion nearby, and as Godzilla stands to challenge the monster, he changes into his Burning Form and explodes. Godzilla emerges from the explosion and sends Zilla flying with a kick as the text "FINISH HIM" appears onscreen, revealing the sequence to have taken place inside the video game Super Monster Smack Down, played by Minilla as LittleGodzilla looks on. She suggests Minilla press the button to use the heat ray, and Minilla does so. Godzilla charges his atomic breath as he cycles through various designs.

Trivia

  • In the scene where LittleGodzilla and Minilla are revealed to have been playing a video game, a transgender pride flag hangs on the wall and LittleGodzilla wears a pink bow, both in reference to Áine's 2020 fan film Coming Out. Another poster reads is a frame from Áine's 2021 short Portrait of a Lizard on Fire, parodying Portrait of a Lady on Fire.[1]
  • During the compilation of Godzilla designs at the end, the 1972 figure can be briefly seen performing the shē dance in reference to Invasion of Astro-Monster (1965). Other figures not seen elsewhere in the video are Godzilla Junior, the 2016 Godzilla's second form, the 1962 Godzilla, and an alternate 1998 Godzilla figure; the 1998 Godzilla can also be seen eating fish in reference to his film.
  • The King Ghidorah figure featured in this short is a 2019 bootleg of the 2015 S.H. MonsterArts King Ghidorah Special Color Ver., as indicated by its exposed wing joints and different scale pattern on the neck.
  • The Super Monster Smack Down game echoes the Mortal Kombat games' iconic "FINISH HIM!"/"FINISH HER!" sequence, which allows the victor to land a decisive blow against their opponent.
