Plot
Two JSDF soldiers in a Tokyo subway discuss how Godzilla's temperature is climbing before they evacuate. The monster's foot crashes through the station moments later. Helicopters fire missiles and machine guns at Godzilla as he retaliates with atomic breath, appearing staggered by their attacks. Pursuing one helicopter, he enters Shinjuku's Kabukicho district, his temperature reaching 490°C. His next blast of atomic breath is tinged with orange, but misses the helicopter. Godzilla stops in front of the heavily-damaged Shinjuku Toho Building, roaring at a sculpture of his head resting at nearly eye level. He shoots down the first helicopter to resume firing at him, but the second knocks him over with a missile barrage. Smoke obscures the monster, but as his body temperature exceeds 800°C, he fires a powerful heat ray to annihilate the helicopter and devastate the surrounding area. He rises with yellow-orange patches throughout his skin, having becoming Burning Godzilla. A soldier stares at him in awe before hearing the arrival of a new monster. Godzilla stares down his next opponent and roars a challenge.

Development and marketing
The film was surprise-announced with a teaser trailer on August 28, 2025, alongside details about Godzilla Fest 2025.[2][4] The film's title was revealed on October 8; the same day, a series of five behind-the-scenes videos hosted by comedy duo Haru to Hikoki, entitled Godzilla vs. Haru to Hikoki, was announced on the Godzilla Channel.[3]
Production
The film makes use of a 2015 promotional suit based on the Godzilla from Godzilla 2000: Millennium, with a newly-made head attached.[5] It consists primarily of a single, continuous shot.[6]

Notes
- ↑ While the word 炎上 would normally be pronounced as enjō, the furigana バーニング indicates it is in this case pronounced bāningu. At Godzilla Fest 2025, host Shinsuke Kasai introduced the film as Shinjuku Enjō but was later corrected by director Kazuhiro Nakagawa to Shinjuku Bāningu.
