Panama

Panama is a country located in the south of North America. A natural land bridge connecting North and South America (the Isthmus of Panama), it is washed by the Pacific Ocean to the southwest and the Caribbean Sea to the northeast. The Panama Canal, opened to shipping in 1914, divides the country's territory. The capital, which has the same name as the country itself, is located near this canal. Panama is featured in the 1998 TriStar Pictures film GODZILLA.

Battle in Outer Space

In 1965, numerous strange incidents occurred around the world, including the destruction of a freighter in the Panama Canal. The culprits were later found to be the Natarls as part of their invasion of Earth.

GODZILLA

Nick Tatopoulos inside a giant footprint

In 1998, Dr. Nick Tatopoulos was taken by the U.S. military to the Gulf of San Miguel, Panama. Not understanding why he could be needed there, he followed Colonel Hicks and suddenly found himself descending to the bottom of a giant footprint. Tatopoulos soon saw a short video of a Japanese survivor of a sea disaster calling the giant creature that left the footprint "Gojira". The U.S. military discovered other footprints of the creature leading to the Caribbean Sea through the plains and hills of Panama.
