UNSC Moon Base

The UNSC Moon Base is a fictional lunar base which appeared in the 1968 Toho film Destroy All Monsters. It is commanded by Nishikawa.

When communications on Monsterland were mysteriously severed and its kaiju inhabitants began attacking cities around the world, the UNSC Moon Base's commander, Nishikawa, ordered Katsuo Yamabe and the crew of the Moonlight SY-3 to end their patrol on the Moon, during which they encountered a flying saucer, and investigate the island. There, they learned that the culprits were an alien race called the Kilaaks, who were controlling the monsters in a bid to conquer Earth. After the UNSC located the devices the Kilaaks had hidden on Earth to broadcast their mind control waves, the aliens switched to broadcasting directly from a base beneath the lunar surface. The SY-3 stopped at the UNSC Moon Base for additional orders from Nishikawa, before its attack on the alien base, located in nearby Cassini Crater. The atmosphere in the Moon Base was tense, as the Nishikawa feared the Kilaaks would quickly strike them if they overcame the SY-3, but the spaceship's mission was successful, its crew destroying both the base and its transmitter, halting the monsters' rampages.
