Kunmei Takahashi (高橋 薫明 Takahashi Kunmei) was a Japanese TV producer. He initially worked at Toho as an assistant director from the 1950s to '60s, mostly being assigned to hardboiled and teen films, but also some tokusatsu films. By the 1970s, he had been transferred to Toho's TV Department and was placed in charge of developing shows for the company.[2] His best-known works were a pair of tokusatsu superhero shows: Zone Fighter (1973), which he co-developed for Toho's subsidiary Toho Eizo, and Flying Saucer War Bankid (1976–77), which he ideated and wrote an initial story for. Takahashi passed away during pre-production on Bankid, but his concept was refined by screenwriter Shukei Nagasaka and successfully greenlit.[3] Takahashi received a posthumous story credit on the series.[4]
