John Barry Prendergast was a British composer. From 1960 to 2001, he wrote music for over 100 movies and is best known as the composer for 11 of the early James Bond films. In 1976, he wrote the music for Dino De Laurentiis' King Kong. Highly lauded, Barry won five Oscars during his career.[1] He passed away in 2011 at the age of 77.
