Daisuke Sato(佐藤 大介, Satō Daisuke) is a Japanese modeler and filmmaker. After working as a modeler on a handful of tokusatsu films in the 2000s, he began production on an adaptation of Ray Bradbury's The Fog Horn (1951) in 2007, but lost all of the footage in a hard drive failure before it could be released. He loosely revisited the idea over a decade later to create his directorial debut—the independent kaiju film Howl from Beyond the Fog (2019)—which he also wrote, produced, shot, edited, and more. He has since formed a working relationship with director Hiroto Yokokawa and his company 3Y, serving as the director of photography on Ghost Cat Rhapsody (2022); co-director, director of special effects, and director of photography on Hoshi 35 (2023); director and writer on Haniwatt Appears (2025); and associate director, director of special effects, and director of photography on the upcoming Fukuiraptor (2026). He also directed the special effects for the American film Iké Boys (2021), helped model the kaiju suit for Yuzo the Biggest Battle in Tokyo (2022), and was the producer and director of special effects on Brush of the God (2024).
