Hiroyasu Sunahara (砂原 博泰 Sunahara Hiroyasu) is a seemingly-retired Japanese producer and director.
Sunahara's first-known job was as a production assistant on the special effects sets of Toho's The Mysterians (1957). He became an assistant director at the company thereafter, working on a variety of films for the next 15 years, including Mothra (1961) and the Godzilla film Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster (1964). He began directing for television in the early 1970s, his contributions to tokusatsu including episodes of all three shows in Toho Planning's "Go!" series (1972–75) and the Toho/Kohan Kawauchi collaboration Warrior of Love Rainbowman (1972–73). He was still working at Toho as recently as 2007, having since made the transition to producer; he notably produced early episodes of the long-running Shizuko Natsuki Suspense Series (2001–15) and Seiichi Morimura's Detective Toi (2005–19).
