A Curtiss C-46D Commando was employed as part of Operation B, the second portion of the plan to lure Godzilla within range of the Artificial Lightning Generators. Modified to carry napalm bombs, the aircraft made a close pass of the kaiju, dropping bombs along his path. This placed him within range of four Kawasaki-Vertol KV-107 IIs waiting to drop a net on top of him, leaving him unable to escape before the Lightning Generators were activated.
