BOOM! Studios is a Los Angeles, California–based imprint of the Random House Publishing Group, a division of American publishing company Penguin Random House. The name was previously used as an imprint of BOOM! Entertainment, Inc., an independent publishing company founded in 2005. Its acquisition by Penguin Random House was announced in July 2024, and was finalized by that September.[5][2]

BOOM! collaborated with DeVito Artworks, LLC to publish numerous comics based on the King Kong of Skull Island property between 2016 and 2018. This included a crossover with the Planet of the Apes franchise, titled Kong on the Planet of the Apes, in 2017, made with the cooperation of 20th Century Fox. It also collaborated with IDW Publishing in 2022 and 2024 to combine the Godzilla and Power Rangers franchises into the comic series Godzilla vs. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Godzilla vs. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers II.
