"Strike! The Garogas' Underground Base" (たたけ!ガロガの () (てい) () (),   Tatake! Garoga no Chitei Kichi) is the third episode of Zone Fighter, directed by Ishiro Honda and written by Masaru Takesue, with special effects by Koichi Kawakita. It aired on April 16, 1973.

Plot

After their second failure with Destro-King, the Garogas began to utilize fourth dimensional gas for their next scheme, demonstrating it first on Dr. Morita, Japan's representative of space engineering technology. While he was driving home, the doctor was ambushed by disguised Garogas driving by him, who shot his car with the dimensional gas, teleporting him away. While the doctor's car was eventually found on Mount Fuji, the doctor himself was still missing. After learning about this, Zone Great theorized Morita had been taken into a fourth dimensional space, and that the Garogas were the likely suspect. Aboard the Garoga Space Station, Baron Garoga had a feed of a Garoga base underneath of Mount Fuji pulled up, before explaining to his subordinates that the pink gas surrounding it created a fourth dimensional net, hiding it from the normal person's view. Morita was then revealed to be at this base and was interrogated by the Garoga about the new weapon he was helping to create, as it would protect the Earth and hinder the Garogas mission.

After finding out the Garoga abducted Takeru along with Hotaru and Dr. Morita's son, Mamoru, Hikaru set out to find the underground base by traveling into the fourth dimension himself with Mighty Liner. Inside the base, the Garoga commander attempted to use Mamoru to get Dr. Morita to talk, before threatening to kill Mamoru. After struggling enough Hotaru was able to break free of her restraints and sent out a Zobot as a distress signal to the Zone Family's home. Upon receiving the Zobot, Yoichiro sent Akira to go rescue them via Smokey. Eventually, Hotaru and the captured humans were able to escape, with her staying behind to transform into Zone Angel, fighting the Garoga commander to delay him from recapturing Dr. Morita. Hikaru would then join up with Zone Angel after transforming, defeating the Garoga commander. However, the Garoga would limp over to the base's microphone and ordered the Garoga Space Station to launch Dorola towards Earth. The Baron Garoga although disappointed with the commander's failure, complied and sent a Terror-Beast Missile containing Dorola to Earth.

Soon after the deployment of Dorola, Zone Fighter ran towards the kaiju and transformed into his giant state. Fighter charged towards the beast and began to batter it with physical attacks. Despite having the advantage over the tribrid, his efforts were short-lived, as Dorola began spraying his Fourth-Dimensional Gas at the hero, causing him to gasp for air and eventually collapse to the ground. With his for on the ground, Dorola began to kick Zone Fighter around, before assailing the hero with his vine arm. At that moment Zone Junior had arrived in Smokey, and landed to meet up with Zone Angel. Noticing their brother was low on power, the two siblings performed a Zone Marker Change from their helmet's antennae, repowering Zone Fighter. Now back to full strength, Fighter began to overpower Dorola once more, cutting off its crustacean claw with his single-handed Meteor Slice Chop. With the claw now in his possession, Fighter wielded it like a sword and cut off Dorola's vine arm before throwing the claw into Dorola's face. Fearing death, the helpless monster began spraying his mist onto himself, causing Dorola to vanish from the 3rd dimension. This would also cause Zone FIghter to perceive that Dorola was teleporting around, as the tribrid began to shove him around as his Fourth-Dimensional Gas messed with Zone's senses. Zone Fighter was however, able to negate the fourth dimensional net by using his Meteor Proton Cut, leaving Dorola wide open and defenseless. Zone Fighter then summoned in his Meteor Gauntlets and finished off the monster with a single volley of his Meteor Missile Might attack. After the missiles stopped firing, Dorola stiffened up before falling backwards, although strangely did not explode.
