Godzilla: The Roleplaying Game is an upcoming Godzilla tabletop RPG from IDW Games. Created by Jervis Johnson, Gav Thorpe, and Mark A. Latham of Warhammer 40,000 fame, the RPG is based on IDW's Kai-Sei Era, an ongoing shared universe of comics that began in 2025.[1] A crowdfunding campaign launched on Kickstarter on March 3, 2026, meeting its $60,000 goal within hours of launch.[2] Fulfillment is expected in October.
Description
Godzilla: The Roleplaying Game sees players "join G-Force to fight the greatest kaiju of all time".[1] It will uniquely utilize 52-card decks in place of traditional dice.

Development
The RPG was announced on Godzilla Day on November 3, 2025, by GamesRadar+, accompanied by statements from the game's creators.[1] Advance playtests occurred at PAX Unplugged on November 21–23, 2025. The Kickstarter launched on March 3, 2026.[2]

- The Learn to Play demo features artwork from Godzilla: Gangsters & Goliaths, Godzilla: Escape the Deadzone, and "Of Gods and Con Artists" from the Godzilla: 70th Anniversary one-shot. The Florapod Remnant is represented by artwork from the latter of flowers left behind by Biollante.
- At the time of the Kickstarter's launch, several kaiju listed in the campaign had yet to appear or be mentioned to exist in the Kai-Sei Era comics, including Hedorah, Kamacuras, Destoroyah, Mothra, and Megalon.
