Imperial Toy Corporation was a California-based American toy company founded in 1969.[2] In 1985, the company released merchandise and figures to coincide with Godzilla 1985, the American version of The Return of Godzilla. Imperial Toys would also produce a King Kong toyline in 1986.[3] The company ultimately filed for bankruptcy in 2020.[4]

Godzilla, King of the Monsters

In 1985, Imperial Toys produced a Godzilla, King of the Monsters toyline. The line included 6-inch and 12-inch scale Godzilla figures, Bop Bags, bubble-blowing toys, and spark-shooting toys. A Sparking Mechagodzilla was showcased in a 1985 magazine advert, but it was ultimately unreleased. Imperial Toys re-released the toys in 1992.

King Kong, King of All America

In 1986, Imperial Toys produced a line of King Kong toys labeled King Kong, King of All America. The King Kong figure was also released in a Clash of the Movie Monsters box set with Dracula, Frankenstein, and Godzilla.
