"Godman vs. Gaira" (ゴッドマン対ガイラ, Goddoman tai Gaira) comprises the 97th to 102nd episodes of Go! Godman, the 17th overall story arc. They aired on Nippon TV from February 1 to 3 and 5 to 7, 1973.
Plot
Some children playing with a ball accidentally throw it into a nearby forest. When they go to retrieve it, they encounter Gaira. Terrified, they run away and call Godman. The hero immediately arrives, shoving Gaira aside each time the monster charges at him as the children applaud. However, Gaira grows to giant size, forcing Godman to do the same, and the two resumed their battle. Godman quickly gains the upper hand again, knocking Gaira down three times. The two exchange punches and other blows, including a strong headbutt by Gaira, until Godman uses his God-Sparks on Gaira, forcing the monster to flee. Godman kicks him down and knocks him over three more times. Gaira retaliates, striking Godman repeatedly while he's pinned to a hillside. Soon the tables turned, with Godman landing a heavy blow on Gaira, leading to another exchange of strikes. Godman is knocked down twice, but managed to return the favor by pinning Gaira to the ground. Gaira breaks free by shoving Godman away, and the fight resumes with a barrage of punches, during which Gaira holds the advantage. The two even clash by slamming their chests together. Eventually, Gaira tumbles down a hill into a city. Godman carefully descends after him, restraining and striking him. Gaira manages to reverse the situation, landing critical blows on Godman, but Godman recovers and the battle became even. After several more knockdowns, Godman once again unleashes his God-Spark and his Supersonic Wave, the latter damaging Gaira's ears and ultimately causing him to explode, leaving Godman once more victorious.
