A currently-untitled Godzilla anime series will be produced by Orange of Japan and Igloo Studio of Thailand. It will star a boy with the powers of Godzilla.[1]

Development

The series was revealed on November 29, 2025, at Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2025 in Suntec City, Singapore. The announcement was accompanied by a piece of concept art of the series' Godzilla-powered protagonist and statements from Toho Senior Managing Executive Officer and Chief Godzilla Officer Keiji Ota, Orange producer Kiyotaka Waki, and Igloo Studio CEO Nat Yoswatananont. Ota expressed his intention for the series to "deeply portray both the fear and hope of our time," honoring the franchise's tradition of being "a mirror that reflects the times".[1] News of the series was also relayed through the Godzilla social media accounts.[2][3]

  • Both of the series' animation studios were previously involved with Godzilla projects, Orange with Singular Point and Igloo Studio with A New Roar in Southeast Asia.
  • The series is advertised as the first instance of a Godzilla story starring a boy with Godzilla's powers in franchise history.[2] Despite this, Jacen Braid, the mutant protagonist of IDW Publishing's comic book series Godzilla (2025–), boasts control over the same Kai-Sei energy as Godzilla, for which he is explicitly described in the comic's first issue as "a boy with the power of Godzilla." Unlike the anime character, however, Braid does not possess any outward features of Godzilla.
