The Godzilla Collection

The Godzilla Collection is an 8-inch scale toy line released by Bandai from 1983 to 1995. It effectively spanned the length of the Heisei Godzilla series, with Toho announcing The Return of Godzilla at the end of 1983 and ending the era with Godzilla vs. Destoroyah in 1995. Figures from this line were later reissued as part of the Godzilla Forever limited toy line and the Godzilla Memorial Box. Going forward, Bandai began primarily releasing soft vinyl Godzilla figures in the 6-inch scale beginning with the Godzilla Island Monster Series and Toho Kaiju Series in 1998.

Trivia
- The Godzilla Collection is one of the few toy lines to include a figure of King Kong from King Kong vs. Godzilla, as Toho did not retain the rights to the character following the two King Kong films it produced. The tag of the King Kong figure in this line credits Turner Entertainment, the owners of the original King Kong film at the time.[1] Turner had previously blocked Toho from producing a remake of King Kong vs. Godzilla titled Godzilla vs. King Kong in the early 1990s.
