Sharon Szmidt is an American actress, singer, and painter. Following her acting debut in the 1992 film A League of Their Own, where she played Rockford Peaches second basewoman Vivian Ernst, Szmidt moved from the United States to Hong Kong with her husband for his job. In late 1996, Omni Productions hired her as a voice actress after she responded to a newspaper ad, but on the condition that she use a different name professionally, as two Sharons already worked for the company. Her son recommended that she adopt "Vivian", after her character from A League of Their Own.[1] She dubbed the Elias Moll in all three Rebirth of Mothra films, as well as characters in each of the final three Heisei Godzilla films.[note 1] She returned to the U.S. in June 2000.[1]

Trivia
- Given that she acted in every available Omni Productions kaiju dub made during her time with the company, it is likely that Szmidt also appeared in the unreleased Omni dub for Godzilla 2000: Millennium (1999), which was recorded in early 2000,[2] prior to her departure from Hong Kong.
Notes
- ↑ In a 2025 interview, Szmidt also claimed that she dubbed one of the Cosmos in Godzilla vs. Mothra.[1] However, her voice in not evident in the dub; moreover, Manga Entertainment released it on VHS in 1995, one year before Omni hired her.
