Talk:Gamera 4: Truth

Plagiarism

This plot summary was ripped from an old Monster Zero News review. However, given our total inability to view a copy of the film for ourselves, we may want to handle this case differently.--Astounding Beyond Belief (talk) 18:31, 27 April 2017 (UTC)

New Source?

Found this… review? Synopsis?

What seems to be going on here is that the blogger found a complete review and copy-pasted it onto their page. (That’s what their wording indicates, anyway.)

As for whom the blogger got it from… no idea. :C But it does seem rather detailed, doesn’t it?! There are a few iffy bits with continuity, and I don’t know what “The Landmark” or “Ideon Sword” are, but this could possibly be helpful for filling in the gaps English reviews leave behind.

What should we do with this? (I probably should have asked this before I edited the page.) It looks hard to verify, but also hard to disprove… I don’t mean to “jump the gun”, but it’s been a while since I’ve seen a review of the film with this much content.

(Sorry if I am nonsensical. It is 11:30pm. :P) --BioRobot2002 (talk) 06:44, 22 September 2025 (UTC)

You were too hasty in editing the page, yeah, but after some investigating, I'm confident that the synopsis is legitimate. The original synopsis comes from a 6/1/11 blog post claiming to have seen the film at the 23rd Tokyo Student Film Festival, where it was indeed shown a few days prior. It also lines up well with English accounts of the film.--Astounding Beyond Belief (talk) 11:42, 23 September 2025 (UTC)
