Langur is a Gaia Soldier kaiju created by Toho that first appeared in episode 24 of the 1996 tokusatsu kaiju series, Guyferd titled The Warrior of Darkness Lives Again.

Name

Langur is named for the "Langur monkeys," a nickname for members of the Colobinae subfamily of Old World monkey, also called "Leaf-eating monkeys."

History

Heisei era

Guyferd

Langur was sent by Zodiac to accompany lead scientist Kuzan in revealing the Gaia-Net to the world. He is attacked by Deathferd, and must use a Guyborg to help him. When later attacked by Guyferd, Langur and his Guyborg maintain the upper hand and trap Guyferd with their staves. Deathferd then attacks them and poses such a threat that they must retrieve their weapons from Guyferd's trap, freeing him in the process. By working together Guyferd and Deathferd are able to defeat Langur.
