Godzilla vs. Marvel and Destroys the Marvel Universe connections

Hiya. I saw in this edit you made, you mention that Godzilla vs. X-Men and vs. Avengers are referenced in Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe. Neither I nor the other mods I asked have heard anything like that, so we're curious what the connections are exactly.

P.S. - I noticed on your user page you say your old account was Mikezilla23. Would you like me to merge that account into your current one and/or rename this one to Mikezilla23? Let me know.

Also worth noting the reference I included about Destroy being 616 canon came from the author himself from an AMA.

We were aware of the 616 claim, but a bit apprehensive to run with it because of how determined the series seems to be to not reference anything from Godzilla's past appearances, as well as how generally wacky it is and incongruous from the timeline (from what I've heard, anyway; not a Marvelhead). If nothing outright contradictory happens in Infinity Roar and/or no further clarification comes out, though, we will probably end up calling it canon.

Regarding Godzilla vs. Marvel, the admin I consulted (ABB) checked Destroys the Universe #3 and not only didn't find any references to the one-shots but something that contradicts them: Cyclops and Professor X are unsure if the latter can psychically sooth Godzilla, even though he did so in Godzilla vs. X-Men. I don't know why the Marvel wiki thinks they're 616—maybe just because their plots aren't as obviously insane as the rest of that series—but I don't buy it. I've not heard any confirmation of their placement, and it would also just be peculiar for a series to be 33% canon. I don't think we have sufficient information to claim it.

Btw, I went through with merging the accounts. Your edits and such on the Mikezilla account should now be attributed to this account.

From what I gathered from the AMA, it looks like Duggen tried to make the mini as stand alone as possible so that people could just go in without feeling like they missed anything while still taking place on 616. He does note it specifically takes place before The Mortal Thor so that plothole is explained.

Huh, could have sworn it was referenced there. Weird. Could try contacting the admins to see what their reasoning for marking them as 616 is too.

And thanks for the merge! Honestly, I just made a new account since I got a new email and didn't want to bother with the old one since I was already having password reset issues lol.
