Spit, presumably short for Spitfire is a domestic Dacschund dog belonging to American fighter pilot Virgil Price, who is a protagonist in the 2018–2025 French comic book series The Kong Crew by Eric Herenguel.
Name
Spit is named for the Supermarine Spitfire, a British aircraft used in World War II. With his ears extended, Spit's silhouette resembles the Spitfire's.
While his full name is never explicitly stated to be "Spitfire," its confirmation as his namesake makes it a likely conclusion.

The Kong Crew
"Manhattan Jungle"
Ome night in 1947, Spit spent the night at the veterinarian's office after eating some garbage. This caused his owner Virgil Price to be late for a briefing at Fort Hancock air base. Spit enjoyed the speedy ride home in Price's car, and was admired by protestors at the base's entrance.
Price and the rest of the "Kong Crew" were assigned to do a flyover of the Manhattan Jungle, searching for two trespassers. Virgil put Spit on a no-sugar diet in an attempt to keep him from getting sick again, and left him in the care of Betty Pearl while he was flying the mission. Unfortunately, Price's plane went down over the jungle.
"Worse than Hell"
With Virgil missing, Spit entered a state of depression. Some of the bade personnel took him to the tailgun diner to try and cheer him up with a sundae, but Spit was unmoved until Betty returned with news that Virgil's emergency flare had been spotted.
With Price's location discovered, Fort Hancock sent a package of supplies into the jungle. Unbeknownst to anyone, Spit managed to climb into the crate, with no hint to his location aside from a pervasive wet dog smell in the cargo carrier. Spit and the supplies were then airdropped into the quarantined Manhattan Jungle.
